An American soldier who became
acquainted with Raccoon City survivor
Leon S. Kennedy sometime after T-Virus outbreak in 1998, Krauser met with Leon
after the two became agents for the U.S. Government. Although the two were good friends, Krauser suddenly disappeared after
a crash in 2002 and was presumed dead. In reality, Krauser survived the crash and became a servant of Albert Wesker. The exact
circumstances behind his survival is unknown, but it is certain that Wesker was behind it.

Gender
Male
Height
178cm
Weight 66.7kg
Birkin joined the Umbrella Corporation in 1977 at the young age of 15. He was
placed at the Umbrella Management Training Facility under James Marcus. There, he became a close acquaintance and rival of
fellow researcher Albert Wesker, as they were both considered to be Marcus' top apprentices. They were involved in the development
of the T-Virus project, until the facility was closed down in 1978.
Dr. Annette Birkin
She is the mother of Sherry Birkin, and the wife of William Birkin. She has a
very serious demeanor and is usually very abrupt with people. She works at the Umbrella Research Laboratory located in Raccoon
City, along with her husband William. Because her job is so demanding, she has little to no time to spend with her daughter,
and although she still loves her, she doesn't show it too often. Annette is first encountered by the player as either Claire
Redfield or Ada Wong (Leon gets shot and knocked out when they first meet). She tells the player from her own point of view
about how Umbrella tried to steal her husband's research away from him, and how he ended up becoming a monster in order to
prolong his life and exact revenge on Umbrella. Although she's not exactly a friend, Annette reveals a lot of information
to the player. This doesn't stop her from trying to shoot and kill both Ada and Leon, though. She does seem to have more of
a tolerance for Claire, due to the fact that in her scenario she's given the task of protecting Sherry, and tries to help
Annette and her daughter reunite. In both Leon and Claire's scenarios, Annette ends up dying, but in different ways.
Annette met William at the Arklay Research Facility. During the Raccoon City
outbreak, Annette proved to be fanatically loyal to her husband, and was determined to preserve his legacy, the G-Virus, from
those who would steal it, even Umbrella. Unfortunately, this loyalty proved to be her undoing
Sherry Birkin
Age 12 (as of 1998)
Blood Type O

Sherry was born around 1985 or 1986 to William and Annette Birkin, scientists
developing biological weapons at the Umbrella Corporation's Arklay Laboratory. Due to their busy work schedule, Sherry's parents
were not around as she grew up.
In 1995, the Birkins were transferred to a newly-constructed underground laboratory
in Raccoon City to work on a new biological weapon called the G-Virus. However, in 1998, William refused to hand the finished
virus to Umbrella. Umbrella Special Forces Unit was sent in to retrieve the G-Virus and assassinate William. However, during
the struggle, William injected himself with the G-Virus and a vial containing the T-Virus broke and was spread over the city.
James Marcus
Age 70 (at the time of death in 1988)
Blood Type A
Gender Male
Height 180cm
Weight 68.5kg
Born in 1918, he was an academic friend of Spencer during their college years
and the two graduated from the same university in 1939. Years later in 1967, the two and their friend, Edward Ashford, discovered
a new virus known as the Progenitor (also known as the Mother Virus), which served as the foundation of Umbrella during the
following year. On August 1968, Marcus was appointed as the general manager of the management training facility and was put
in charge of the company's creative output, leaving the financial duties to Spencer himself. However, Marcus often got into
arguments with Spencer (who considered Marcus' experiments with Progenitor to be a waste of the company's funding) and attempted
to increase his own influence within the company in order to take Spencer's power away.
Around the late 1970s, he created the Tyrant Virus by combining leech DNA with
Progenitor. During this time, he was a mentor to both, Albert Wesker and William Birkin, who were trainees in the Facility.
He used animals test subjects for his research, resulting in the creations of three of the company's original B.O.Ws (Bio-Organic
Weapons). He had planned on introducing the T-Virus to the board of directors, but his research ended up being stolen by Spencer's
men and the T-Virus project was transferred to the Arklay Research Facility, after the training facility was closed down.
During the 1980s, Marcus continued his research within the facility's hidden
underground lab, using animals as test subjects for the T-Virus, resulting in the creation of the Eliminators, Plague Crawlers
and Lurkers. He decided that mammals were the best hosts for the T-Virus and began using human test subjects. No less than
twenty trainees were victims of Marcus' experiments. Marcus' experiment remained under wraps until 1988. After the T-Virus
Project in the Arklay Research Facility reached its Third Phase (the creation of the Tyrant), Spencer ordered Marcus' most
trusted apprentices, Wesker and Birkin, to assassinate him.
Ozwell E. Spencer
Spencer was one of the three men who discovered the Progenitor Virus (a new type
of RNA virus) along with Edward Ashford and James Marcus on November 1967. The three established the Umbrella Corporation,
a manufacturer of biological weapons that posed as a pharmaceutical company. During that same year, he established the Arklay
Research Facility located in the outskirts Raccoon City and camouflaged the lab as a mansion. He murdered the mansion's architect,
George Trevor, and used his wife and daughter (Jessica and Lisa) as test subjects for the Progenitor Virus, in order to eliminate
anyone who might had known about the mansion's secrets.
During the following year, he established the Umbrella Management Training Facility
(also located at the Arklay Mountains) for further research of the Progenitor Virus and appointed co-founder James Marcus
as the first general manager. Marcus helped create the T-Virus by combining the Progenitor Virus with leech DNA. Even though
Marcus and Spencer worked in separate facilities, the two had a mutual rivalry and considered each other a threat to their
respective positions, with Marcus having his own supporters. In 1988, when Spencer was making his own progress with the T-Virus,
he ordered Albert Wesker (one of Marcus' former apprentices) to assassinate Marcus and appointed William Birkin to take over
the T-Virus project. As the only living founder of the Umbrella Corporation, he has monopolized the company's entire business
for himself.
It is also speculated that it was Spencer who ordered the deployment of Umbrella
troops, the T-103 Tyrant and the Nemesis during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. He probably also ordered
the assasination of William Birkin to secure the G-Virus, as Birkin was planning to sell it to another prospective employer.
George Trevor
Ozwell E. Spencer contracted George Trevor, a well-known architect from New York,
in order to construct a mansion in the Arklay Mountains region of Raccoon City. Spencer paid him lavishly for the project,
which took five years to complete. In 1967, to commemorate the completion of the mansion, Spencer invited Trevor and his family
to stay with him and spend their vacation on the mansion. Trevor decided to send his wife and daughter, Jessica and Lisa,
ahead of him.
When Trevor arrived at the mansion on November 13, his wife and daughter were
nowhere to be found. Trevor was told that they were out to visit their hospitalized aunt Emma and was unaware they were actually
being used as a test subjects for the Progenitor Virus. During Trevor's stay of the mansion, he became suspicious as he discovered
several new traps and rooms that were not part of his original blueprints and also began to worry about his family's absence.
On November 21, three men in white coats had Trevor confined in a small room
and was informed of his wife's and daughter's probable deaths. Trevor decided to escape from the mansion by using one of the
secret tunnels he built. However, Spencer knew about the tunnels and calculated which one Trevor would take. On November 30,
Trevor found himself in a dead end, with no way to go back. The following day, December 1 (though Trevor apparently could
not think straight and wrote it as "November 31"), he found a tombstone with his name on it, and realized Spencer had planned
it all along. It is assumed Trevor died from starvation or dehydration after that.
In addition to the Spencer Estate, Trevor was also hired by Edward Ashford to
design him a mansion similar to the Spencer one. His design was never finished, but parts of it were applied to the Antarctic
Facility owned by the Ashfords, such as the main hall (which resembled the Spencer version).

chemical protection duties for S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team. He had a mild-mannered personality which contrasted his intimidating
appearance and was a skilled gardener during his free time, making him much more sociable and caring than he really looked.
Kevin Dooley
Kevin
Dooley was a helicopter pilot working for the Raccoon Police Department. He was not an official S.T.A.R.S. operative, but
had assisted the team before on various occasions. His prior occupation before being recruited by the RPD was working as a
stunt pilot for the entertainment industry.
Kevin was placed as Bravo Team's pilot instead of their regular pilot, Edward Dewey, when the team was dispatched to
investigate the recent homicides that had occurred within the Arklay region. Edward instead acting as the team's navigator.
When the helicopter suffered a serious engine failure mid-flight, Dooley managed to put it down in thick foliage without injuring
a single member of Bravo Team, proving himself an exceptional pilot. Due to Kevin's lack of high-threat combat training and
field experience, he was forced to stay put within the damaged helicopter whilst Bravo Team began their search for Billy Coen. On the following night, Kevin's corpse was found
by Alpha Team's Joseph Frost, severely mutilated by the many infected Cerberus guard dogs wandering the forest. The same dogs
that would later claim Joseph's life, too.
Alfred Ashford
Age 27 (born 1971)
Blood Type Unknown
Gender Male
Height 176cm
Weight 61.8 kg
Alfred Ashford was born as a product of Alexander Ashford's "Code: Veronica"
project, an attempt to create an offspring with the a level of intelligence on par with Veronica Ashford, the first master
of the Ashford clan. He was born in 1971 along with a twin sister named Alexia. Of the two, Alfred only possessed moderately
high intelligence compared to Alexia, who was considered a child prodigy.
Alfred and Alexia had a very close relationship as they grew up and often did
their things together. His close bonding with Alexia eventually lead him to insanity. At the age of 12, Alfred and Alexia
learned the truth about their birth after discovering Alexander's secret lab within the Ashford's Antarctic facility. Upset
about the revelation, he decided to use his father as a guinea pig for Alexia's T-Veronica experiment. The experiment was
considered a failure, with Alexander turning into a mindless monster (later codenamed Nosferatu). As a result, Alexia was
forced to inject herself with T-Veronica and was put to cryogenic sleep in order to properly develop the virus from within.
Alfred was forced to live without his sister for the next fifteen years.
In 1993, Alfred graduated from a university in England and took over both the
Rockfort Island's Military Training Facility and the Antarctic Research Facility. He ruled over the island as a complete dictator,
torturing and killing prisoners, as well decorating his facility with all sorts of military paraphernalia. Around this time,
he developed a multiple personality disorder in which he would pose as his sister Alexia due to the pain of being separated
from her for such an extended time.
Alexia Ashford
Age 27 (born in 1971)
Blood Type Unknown
Gender Female
Height 175cm
Weight 54.3kg
Alexia and Alfred were born in 1971 as offspring of Alexander Ashford's (the
sixth generation headmaster of the Ashford clan) "Code: Veronica" project, an attempt to clone Veronica Ashford (the first
matriarch of Ashfords and worshipped by her descendants) by implanting her genes into an artificially inseminated ovum. Of
the two, Alexia possessed superb intelligence and was considered to be a genius at a young age, in constrast to Alfred, who
only had moderately high intelligence. As a result, Alexia had a very dominant relationship with her twin brother and treated
him as a mere servant. She attended a prestigious university at a young age and by the time she was 10 (in 1981), she had
already graduated valedictorian.
Afterwards, she was hired by the Umbrella Corporation and appointed as head researcher
of their Antarctic Facility. This earned the jealousy of William Birkin, the head researcher of the Arklay Research Facility,
who was the youngest researcher employed by Umbrella until the arrival of Alexia and considered her to be his greatest rival.
Within the facility, she developed the T-Veronica after her research on the behavioural pattern of ant queens and their servants,
as well as her research on the T-Virus.
She had no suitable test subject to experiment with after completing the virus,
so she decided to use her father as guinea pig for the experiment in 1983. However, Alexander was mutated into a mindless
creature and the experiment was considered a failure. Alexia learned that in order for a host to form a symbiotic relationship
with the T-Veronica, the host must be kept in cryogenic sleep for at least 15 years. And thus, Alexia implanted herself with
T-Veronica and decided to remain asleep in a cryogenic chamber in the Antarctic Facility, while her brother Alfred watched
out for her. During her sleep, Alfred developed a second personality after suffering a withdrawal syndrome from her absence.
HUNK
Age Unknown
Blood Type Unknown
Gender Male
Height Unknown
Weight Unknown
HUNK received his training in the training facility located on Rockfort Island,
where U.S.S. operatives were taught to deal against B.O.Ws and other biohazardous outbreak. When he began his actual mercenary
career, he completed various classified operations in which he was the only surviving member of his team. Because of his high
survival rate (and the low survival rate of his comrades), he was given the nickname "Mr. Death" by his comrades and also
developed a rivalry with the notorious mercenary Nicholai Ginovaef, from the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (another
of Umbrella's special task forces).
In September, 1998, HUNK was assigned to the USFU Alpha Team under orders from
Christine Henri (Head Manager of Umbrella's R&D Facility in France) to infiltrate Umbrella's underground lab in Raccoon
City, assassinate renegade scientist William Birkin and steal a sample of the G-Virus. However, the mission went horribly
awry when Birkin injected himself with the G-Virus, turning into a monstrous creature. The entire Alpha Team was decimated
and the T-Virus was leaked to the city. HUNK managed to survive the assault and procured a sample of the G-Virus that was
in the pendant of William Birkin's daughter Sherry Birkin. Encountering hordes of creatures and mutants while escaping from
the city's sewers and police station, HUNK successfully reached the extraction chopper on the precinct's roof. Afterwards,
he was transported to the region of Loire in France, where he delivered the sample to his superiors.
After his mission in Raccoon City, he went through another classified operation
in which he and his team transported a B.O.W. capsule to Rockfort Island. Although he has the utmost respect for the island's
commander, Alfred Ashford, he also criticized Ashford's confidentiality policy in his report, as he refused to divulge the
content of the B.O.W. capsule (an experimental Tyrant model).
HUNK's whereabouts after Umbrella's shutdown by the government are unknown, although
it is believed he presently works as a mercenary for hire.
Nicholai Ginovaef
Age 35 (as of 1998)
Blood Type O
Gender Male
Height 187cm
Weight 102kg
Unlike the other UBCS members, who are mostly third-world mercenaries or convicted
war criminals hired as foot-soldiers by Umbrella, Nicholai is a career Umbrella secret agent. Unbeknownst to his UBCS comrades,
Nicholai is one of the "Supervisors" assigned to operation "Bravo 16". Supervisors are Umbrella agents stationed throughout
the city assigned to monitor the T-virus outbreak, as well as to gather combat data on the various monsters as the UBCS soldiers
encounter and fight them. However, Umbrella's monsters proved to be even more effective than the company anticipated, and
the UBCS teams were utterly wiped out, stranding Nicholai and the other Supervisors within the city limits.
An exceptionally ruthless and crafty individual, not caring about anyone but
himself, Nicholai realizes that if all the other Supervisors were to die, he will have a monopoly on the combat data, giving
him the ability to bargain for a higher price from Umbrella. Nicholai spends much of his time covertly hunting down the other
Supervisors and executing them, but unfortunately for Nicholai, Carlos learns that he is eliminating the rest of the UBCS and
informs Jill that Nicholai is dangerous and wil try to eliminate them. Jill Valentine, in her explorations of Raccoon City,
often unknowingly encounters his handiwork. Nicholai also plotted to kill Jill in order to collect a bounty Umbrella placed
on her life.
Jill eventually confronts Nicholai, Nicholai might have tryed to eliminate Jill
at that moment if there hadnīt been an intervention by a B.O.W known as Gravedigger. Unlike Albert Wesker, who had previously
also deceived and betrayed Jill, Nicholai does not gloat about his deception. Rather than bearing his enemies and victims
any malice, Nicholai seems to take a detached, business-like attitude towards dispatching them through booby traps, which
allows us to understand that he is only interested about his career, and doensīt care about the methods he as to use to achieve
his goals. Though in the novelization of Resident Evil 3, he is displayed to have a minorly sadistic attribute, mainly because
he shoots Mikhail just to see him in pain and he constantly contemplates how to get the most horrified looks from Carlos and
Mikhail when he betrays them.

Platoon. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Mikhail was once the leader of an ethnic minority's guerrilla force that
his wife belonged to. However, after being captured by the Russian officials, he was convicted of numerous acts of terrorism
and was tried as a war criminal. But instead of being sentenced, he was appointed as a member of the U.B.C.S. instead along
with his guerrilla comrades.
Osmund Saddler

Height Unknown
Weight Unknown
Osmund Saddler is the leader of a religious cult in Europe known as the "Los
Iluminados" (from Spanish, The Illuminated) which seeks to overthrow the U.S. government in order to reshape the world to
their vision. He was successful in unleashing the "Plagas" parasites which remained dormant in the Salazar family's castle
by brainwashing the eighth castellan, Ramon, to do his bidding. The two contracted miners from a nearby village to excavate
the seal on the parasites. Due to years of lying dormant, the parasites have since formed into a spore-like substance, which
infected the miners and later spread to the rest of the local villagers, transforming them into mind-controlled creatures
known as "Ganados" (Cattle). Saddler was also capable of controlling the Ganados using a specialized Master Plaga vial, called
the "Sample" and what appeared to be a living ceremonial rod made from one of the parasites.

Chief Mendez is one of Osmund Saddler's underlings, working as a priest for Saddler's
cult, Los Iluminados, in addition to his position as village chief. It is unknown whether he was the village chief prior to
joining Saddler's cult or simply became corrupt when Saddler came to the village. Like most of Saddler's men, he has been
implanted with a Plaga parasite, although his Plaga seems to have matured ahead of the Ganados', as it has taken over his
entire body, including his spine. Mendez also wears a fake eye in his left eye socket (how he lost his original eye is never
revealed). The fake eye contains a brown iris, contrasting with its natural blue counterpart, and is encoded to open the gate
to Ramon Salazar's castle.
Ramon Salazar
Age 20
Blood Type Unknown
Gender Male
Height 3'11"
Weight Unknown
Centuries ago, the first Salazar castellan sealed off a breed of parasites known
as "Las Plagas", which were used by Los Illuminados to take control of people and recruit new members.
However, Ramon, the eighth castellan, lived alone with his butler and had no
immediate family since childhood. This left him vulnerable to Osmund Saddler's influence, who convinced him to join Los Illuminados
and undo the seal of Las Plagas in order to atone for the "sins" of his ancestors. He also injected one of the parasites into
his own body, believing it would give him power over the Ganados, and was also given two mutated bodyguards known as Verdugos.
Eventually, he was completely taken over by the power of the parasites. Salazar found himself a recluse in his castle close
to the village, as he no longer cared for anything but the survival and domination of Los Illuminados, which led to his assistance
in the capture of U.S. President's daughter Ashley Graham. Only his butler knew the truth of his full spiritual incapacitation
(aside from Saddler).

George is a doctor and surgeon who works at the Raccoon General Hospital (Same hospital
from Resident Evil 3). George was married but was divorced prior to the T-virus outbreak in Raccoon City. George seems to
be more sophisticated and intelligent than the other characters and also has a watch collection.
David
King - David is a quiet plumber and a former juvenile delinquent, is skilled with a knife, and can use his toolbox to create
weapons from various items (E.g Creation of a spear from a long pole with knife, or a crude flamethrower from a bug spray
aerosol can with a lighter.
Mark
Wilkins - Mark is a war veteran that moved to Raccoon City after the Vietnam War. He later became a security guard. Like Kevin,
Mark comes equipped with a gun, in this case a regular handgun which can utilize the standard 9mm rounds that are found throughout
Raccoon City; furthermore, he is very handy with melee weapons, and is able to ready his strike to cause more damage with
them
Yoko
Suzuki - Yoko is a quiet reserved college student with a mysterious past, seemingly linked to Umbrella Corporation. Yoko can
hold double the number of possible items by utilizing her backpack, and her capacity for infection is the slowest of all the
characters.
Alyssa
Ashcroft - Alyssa is a newspaper reporter, who can pick locks by utilizing her lockpick. She can also back step out of the
way of attacks. By aiming for a longer amount of time, Alyssa can do more damage with handguns. Some wonder if she isnīt in
part responsible for some of the reporter memos and photos that are collected during Resident Evil 2 and 3.
Jim
Chapman - Jim is a subway employee, who can avoid zombies by throwing himself onto the ground, playing dead (though viral
infection speeds while playing dead). Jim is highly superstitious, often flipping a coin to see if his luck will change for
the better. He can also determine the location of items in a room.
Bob
- Bob is Mark's best friend and a fellow security guard. Bob was infected with the T-virus and slowly turned into a zombie.
The player can help Bob through the scenario, but he is doomed and ultimately commits suicide before becoming a zombie.
Will
- Will is the bartender at J's Bar, Will fate is sealed when he confronts what he thinks is a drunken customer (zombie). The
zombie bites his throat, critically wounding him. A short while later, more zombies attack him and kill him. He then becomes
a zombie himself.
Raymond
- Raymond is an R.P.D. officer the player meets outside of J's Bar. Fearless and resourceful, Raymond helps the player by
opening two locked doors before he is killed by zombies (or, in Hard Mode, giant insects called Scissor Worms).
Dorian
- Dorian is another R.P.D. officer. He takes the player and several other survivors as far as he can before an inconvenient
roadblock halts the evacuation. Later, he drives the player to a safer part of the city.
Elliott,
Eric, and Harry - Are three R.P.D. officers who are trying to deal with a huge crowd of zombies on Main Street. Elliott and
Eric are both killed by zombies while Harry survives. He later comes back in file 2 to save you with Rita
Monica
- Monica is a researcher in Umbrella's underground laboratory. After shooting a colleague she steals a capsule containing
a G-Mutant sample. She is attacked and later killed when a G-Virus larvae bursts from her chest, but fans are split on exactly
what happens. One theory is that, as she tries to activate the tram, she is attacked by the Giant Moth. In the ensuing struggle,
the G-Embryo she'd been trying to steal gets loose and implants itself inside of her. She dies when the Larvae bursts from
her chest, which mutates into a G-Mutant. A more popular theory, however, is that she is attacked by a mutated William Birkin,
who himself plants an embryo into Monica. Some fans of this theory claim that when Monica is seen staggering near the end
of the level, the stolen G-Embryo can be seen still in the suitcase (though the glass case around it is cracked). A much more
plausible theory would be that Birkin attacked Monica, took the G-Embryo Larvae, and implanted it in her. Also, other than
in the supposed attack of Monica, the Giant Moth disappears after the temperature is raised back to normal; in addition, it
is quite possible to kill the Giant Moth before Monica is attacked.
Hursh
- Hursh is a doctor working at Raccoon General Hospital who the player encounters early in The Hive. After repairing the elevators,
Hursh is attacked and killed by the Leech Man. It is thought that after being attacked, the leeches took over his body and
Hursh was the Leech Man, seeing as when the Leech Man was killed, Hursh's body lay on the floor. However, from first glance
this seems impossible, as there was a previous encounter with the Leech Man prior to Hursh's death. Although this theory seems
impossible, if the files read, evidence taken from Hursh's body, and a body in the third floor Nurses station are all carefully
examined, it is discovered that the possible origional Leech Man was a Dr. John Scott. The fact that whenever an AI character
is killed by the Leech Man, he/she becomes a Leech Man/Women themselves, seems to support this theory
Charlie
and Len - Are two firefighters from the Raccoon Fire Department. While searching the basement of the Apple Inn for survivors,
they are killed when the boiler explodes.
Danny
and Gill - Are a another pair of firefighters working for the R.F.D. Danny was friends with Charlie and Len. Danny rescues
the player in an R.F.D. helicopter at the end of Hellfire. Danny reappears with Gill in Decisions, Decisions, when he flies
the rescue helicopter at the end of the game.
Greg
Mura - Greg is a scientist headquartered at the Raccoon University. He creates a powerful Tyrant-class monster, Thanatos,
before being shot and killed by Nicholai Ginovaef. Greg created Daylight, a cure for the t-virus. Evidence in the Abandoned
Hospital linked him to the hospital administrator Al Lester, but the degree of his involvement in the illegal testing there
is unknown.
Peter
Jenkins - Peter is a friend of George's who worked as a researcher at Raccoon University. He helped Greg create Daylight before
his death. (Precisely how Peter died remains a mystery, although all signs point to Greg being his killer)
